Industrial chic, is that even a style? Oh well if it’s not, because it’s what I call these lamps and I adore them.

When people see the world and think about things like the secret that’s depicted on the postcard (taken from Post Secret) above it just makes me smile.

And… here’s the news I’ve been hinting toward for a few weeks!
I am so excited to announce my new company Blue Feather Media! As I’ve been networking for my event planning, I’ve had lots of people show interest in my writing, marketing and social media services. So, after much thought I have decided to combine my creative services company and my event planning company under one roof–Blue Feather Media.
Up above are my new business cards and label. I love the logo my friend and talented designer, Rachel Martin, created! Currently, the website only has a landing page, but should be fully up and updated with my marketing, writing, social media and event services within the next month or so. I’ll keep you updated!
Thanks to everyone for your continued support!

Our beach trip was fantastic. There was zero TV time, great seafood, tons of sunshine, long walks on the beach and just great one-on-one time. We really needed to get away from the super humid Charlotte weather and I came back feeling totally refreshed.

Happy Monday to you! How was your weekend?
My weekend was really great! Saturday I hung out pretty much all day with my friend Tonya and we did so much! After an incredibly successful trip to Sleepy Poet (pictures later in the week) we went to a few other Charlotte stores and then onto our friend Julie’s MBA party followed by dinner at Customshop for Restaurant Week. I highly recommend if you’ve never been.
Then yesterday I just lounged around the house, caught up on magazines, did some organizing and took it easy. I’m ready for the coming week, incredibly excited to have my head shots taken tonight and super excited about our trip up to Maine on Wednesday.
I hope you had a relaxing, restful few days. Cheers to a great week!

Happy Friday to you! What fun do you have planned?
This weekend I’m going to Sleepy Poet for some vintage shopping, attending a congrats party and catching up on my magazines. Stephen’s working so I’ll be having some good one-on-one time with myself.
I hope you have a relaxing few days. I’ll be back here next week with a sneak-peek of some business collateral and pictures from our beach trip. Be good!

As a lover of all things design, when my friend Rachel posted about his book I immediately was off to check it out. EcoDesign: The Sourcebook features some of the coolest, environmentally friendly products I’ve every seen. In the book, you’ll find electronics, furniture, appliances and vehicles with each item including a photo and description. Very cool and definitely worth adding to your coffee table book collection if you’re design focused, eco-minded or eco-curious.

The Hipstamatic photo application for iPhone. I’m taking all of our beach pictures with it and I love the vintage feel they’re producing. (More pictures next week!)

Selling our old iPhones on Ebay. We’ve basically paid for our 4.0 upgrades just by selling our old ones. And no matter what people say, the new phone rocks!

The beautiful jewelry by Noelani Designs. They’re sold at one of my favorite boutiques in Charlotte, Isabella, and are seriously gorgeous pieces.

On the 4th of July we went to a potluck and had lots of goodies. My favorite was this Spinach & Artichoke Dip. It’s definitely not healthy or low-fat but it’s soooo good! Enjoy!
Spinach & Artichoke Dip
1 stick of butter
½ large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
8 ounces cream cheese
8 ounces pepper jack cheese, shredded
4 ounces grated parmesan cheese
8 ounces sour cream (or substitute low-fat plain yogurt)
2 small or 1 large jar of artichoke hearts, chopped
2 – 10 ounce packages frozen chopped spinach, thaw & drain thoroughly
::
1- In large saucepan, sauté onions and garlic in butter until onions are cooked.
2- Add in cheeses and sour cream (or yogurt).
3- Stir frequently until well blended & heated through.
4- Add in spinach & artichokes and stir until well blended.
5- Optional: once in serving bowl, cover with light layer of parmesan.
6- Serve with pita bread or crackers.
::
Yield: Lots
