Happy Friday to you! What fun do you have planned?

We’ve been in Madison, Wisconsin visiting my dad and step-mom since yesterday morning and so far, so good! We’re having a blast exploring the town and spending time with them. Last February when we visited, the weather was frigid so we didn’t spend much time outside exploring everything Madison has to offer. Much better this time around– with the great farmers market, trees and gardens in bloom– for sure.

I hope you have a relaxing few days. I’ll see you back here next week. Be Good!

Happy Monday to you! How was your weekend?

I feel like I’ve been playing catch up all day and can barely keep up! Seeing my in-laws was a lot of fun and it was great to experience some different things in the city. If you’re local, I’d definitely suggest you check out the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I’m not a huge NASCAR fan, but I really enjoyed it (for the first two hours, not the third).

Of course, my favorite thing from the weekend was seeing Wicked. Man, what a great show. It blew the book out of the water! :)

And did any of you go to POPS in the Park? Seriously… every time I go, it rains. What a bummer.

I hope you had a relaxing few days. Cheers to a great week!

Happy Friday to you! What fun do you have planned?

This weekend my in-laws are visiting and we have lots of fun planned! On the agenda is eating barbecue, seeing Wicked, visiting the Nascar hall-of-fame (we are in the South after all), attending another Apple One-to-One class, listening to some live music and perhaps a little DIY around the house. A really great long weekend with them– I think!

I hope you have a relaxing few days. Cheers to a great weekend! Be Good.

This Post Secret really spoke to me when I read it over the weekend. Are you familiar with Post Secret? I love it and read every Sunday.

Happy Tuesday to you! How was your weekend?

Mine was really great! Our scouting session for the wedding I’m planning was so perfect. It was a fun road trip just the two of us with a tiny bit of work thrown in. There was perfect weather, homemade strawberry ice cream and tasting of great wines. If you’re in Charlotte I definitely recommend you take a day trip and check out Elkin Creek Vineyard, Brandon Hills Vineyard and 21 and Main Restaurant.

In addition to the road trip, I took an Apple One-to-One class and it was so helpful. I’m so glad I have them available to help me learn this computer!

Oh, did you have Monday off? I did a bit of work but spent quite a bit of time reading and listening to the rain. It was really relaxing.

I hope you’re week has started off great! Cheers to Tuesday!

Happy Friday to you! What fun do you have planned?

It’s our last weekend in town that’s either not filled with company or away on vacation until July (!), so we’re maximizing time together. We’ll be heading up to Elkin, NC to check out a winery and restaurant for a couple who is having a wedding up there in September, possibly heading to Speedstreet, taking an Apple One-to-One class and hanging out with friends.

I hope you have a relaxing few days + nice long weekend. Be Good!

Happy Monday to you! How was your weekend?

This weekend was really relaxing. We spent sometime with friends, went on two walks, cooked homemade meals and just generally enjoyed life.

I have a super busy week filled with a new bridal consult, a meeting to discuss my blog, book club and a meeting to discuss upcoming events for Green Drinks Charlotte. I’m actually really looking forward to it!

I hope you had a relaxing few days. Cheers to a great week!

Happy Friday to you! What fun do you have planned?

On the agenda for me… a whole lotta nothin’. Yep, not one thing firmly set in stone. Truthfully, after two weekends away I’m really looking forward to getting up, taking walks, maybe having some coffe, maybe running errand. Pretty much going where ever the wind takes me…

I hope you have a relaxing few days. Cheers to a great weekend. See you back here same time, same place. Be good.

Summer Plans

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

I can tell everyone is starting to get into summer mode… stores are emptying out, scheduling appointments is becoming a bit more challenging. Here’s my plans (so far!) What do you have on the calendar?

1- Complete logo, branding + website for Blue Feather Media (my writing, editing and social media company).

2- Spend time at the outer banks completely disconnected.

3- Rebrand blog. Since I don’t really write about weddings or events and now have two separate companies (Blue Feather Media + Lilac & Ivy Event Planning) I’m thinking about rebranding the blog as something separate from either company. Perhaps go back to Serendipity. What do you think?

4- Hike South Mountain.

5- Goal: Obtain two new social media clients.

6- Travel to Portland, Maine for Mitch and Ali’s wedding then onto Boston for some sightseeing.

7- See the play Wicked.

8- Have head shots + couple shots taken.

9- Travel to Virginia for two sister-in-law + family visits.

Happy Wednesday

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Hi Friends! I’m back from a whirlwind trip to Arizona for the baptism of my God Daughter Kate. She’s beyond cute and the ceremony and party were wonderful.

Sorry for missing Table Talk yesterday. I’m finally settling back into my routine, it seems to take me at least a day to recover from losing a day to flying, you know?

Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and your week is off to a great start!

Elizabeth Gilbert TED Talk

Monday, May 17th, 2010

I really loved this lecture by Elizabeth Gilbert that I stumbled upon on Courtney’s blog. Although I didn’t love her book, Eat Pray Love, the lecture topic is timeless and I think will apply to many of you readers: nurturing creativity and allowing your creative “genius” to thrive and guide you. Bonus: Elizabeth is a really great speaker. If you have a spare 20 minutes, take a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

Oil Spill Infographic

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

This oil spill has made me so frustrated about the energy situation here in the US. As most of you know, I volunteer with SustainCharlotte as well as make every effort I can to be green. Safe green alternative energy sources exists, why are so many people (especially the decision makers) so opposed to investing in them instead of having short sighted solutions to our energy issue?

A whole industry, not to mention wildlife are being negatively impacted. Check out this infographic to learn more about the damages and cost of this spill. (Click the link to make it larger.)

P.S. I learned this from the Fast Company website where I found the infographic, “If the oil well causing the spill isn’t plugged in 50 days, it will overtake Exxon Valdez as the largest oil spill in U.S. history.” Also, what the graphic doesn’t mention is that “the oil rig causing the spill originally sank on April 20th–meaning that we’re already 16 days in, while capping the well might take up to 90 days. Not to mention what happens if the well-head goes completely belly up–in that case, the spillage rate will increase many fold.”
