Wow, it’s August! Can you believe how fast this summer is going? In a simple month it will be the start of fall, exciting!! This month I’m looking forward to:

- Celebrating a newish (but becoming a great!) friend’s birthday
- The prospect of a very exciting opportunity with a sustainable company
- Listening to some jazz and seeing some amazing art at the Bechtler Museum
- Having two of my sister-in-laws + their kids visit
- Attending a friend’s baby shower
- Attending book club to discuss Three Cups of Tea

Happy July! It’s summer and even though I sometimes feel like I’m melting from the heat, I love the longer days and all the traveling that comes with summer! This month I’m especially looking forward to:

- Attending a 4th of July barbecue at my friend Amber’s house and then Pops in the Park
- Gathering with fun ladies for book club
- Going to my first ever movies in the park
- Starting to plan a fall SustainCharlotte event
- Having some professional headshots taken
- Taking a mid-week trip to the beach and staying in our friends beach house
- Attending our good friends Mitch and Ali’s wedding in Portland, Maine followed by a quick day in Boston

Can you believe half the year is gone? It’s going so fast, I seriously can’t believe it. This month I’m looking forward to:

-Seeing the Broadway play Wicked
-Spending time with my in-laws
-Attending Symphony in the Park
-Visiting my dad and step-mom in Madison and seeing the huge farmers market, kayaking on the lake and possibly visiting Taliesin
-Doing a fun shop-and-sip for a Green Girls night out (a division of Green Drinks Charlotte)
-Attending a Farm to Table dinner at Poplar Ridge Farm
-Having my sister-in-law and her family visit us here in Charlotte for the first time
-Continuing to network for Lilac & Ivy and Blue Feather Media

April flew by and I can’t believe it’s already May! It’s starting to warm  up and I feel we are on the verge of summer. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to Spring! This month I’m looking forward to:

-Meeting my God Daughter and seeing her baptized
-Attending book club where we’ll discuss Water for Elephants
-A trip to Raleigh to visit Furbish Studio and have a fun girls trip
-Attending a tour of Poplar Ridge Farm
-Visiting the new farmers market at Atherton Mills- it’s going to be awesome!

Hello, April… Hello Spring!!! I love you so much! This month, I’m looking forward to simple things:

-Enjoying the spring flowers that are abloom everywhere
-Putting on a great event with SustainCharlotte
-Attending book club where we discuss The Help (which I loved)
-Meeting fellow tweeters at the TweetTarts get together
-Getting to know more people in the industry a bit better
-Continuing to learn how to work from home

Happy March to you! It’s finally starting to warm up a bit and I’m so, so excited! This month has lots going on; here’s what I’m looking forward to:

-Celebrating our three-year wedding anniversary.
-Celebrating my birthday. I seriously love a day for me.
-Having new tile put in our bathroom.
-Visiting my sister-in-law and her family in Richmond.
-Networking, networking, networking. And hopefully bringing in some wedding business.

February, the month of love. I don’t have a whole lot going on this month. It suits me just fine though. If I remember correctly, it’s the last month of cold before the buds start to sprout and for that I’m thankful. February brings excitement about:

-The beginning of my new book club.
-Hopefully wrapping up a few home projects so I can share some pictures.
-Heading up to Richmond to visit my sister-in-law and her family
-Networking, networking, networking!

Whoops, the 1st got away from me before I could get to this post! It’s a new year with new beginnings and new excitements. Happy January 2010 to you! This month I’m looking forward to:

-Finally getting my gallery wall started in our hallway.
-Heading out west for a trip to visit with family and friends.
-Attending the Altitude Design Summit.
-Diving into some books I’ve had on my bookshelf for way too long.
-The new season of Project Runway.
-Continuing my yoga and pilates practice.

It’s my favorite month… fa, la, la, la, la! I love December so much and could not be more excited  about everything it’s offering:

-Celebrating the holiday early next weekend at Tiffany and Sean’s party.
-Getting dressed up for their party.
-Continuing to network for Lilac & Ivy.
-Heading to my in-laws for Christmas and seeing the holiday spirit in my nieces and nephews little eyes.
-Giving my friends and family special gifts.

Ahhh November. You are such a bittersweet month. I love everything that comes with you– boots, apple cider, sweaters, hot chocolate, fall leaves– but I truly hate being cold and you bring in the chill and usually rain too. Oh well, I think the things I love about you far outweigh the things I dislike. This month I’m looking forward to:

-Reconnecting with some old friends.
-Staring my search to find the perfect gifts.
-Seeing this movie.
-Visiting with family for Turkey Day.
-Taste testing recipes for my homemade friends and neighbor gifts.

It’s fall, whoo hoo! I love this weather; the leaves changing truly is magical. It’s also the kick off to my favorite season and favorite holidays. This month I’m looking forward to:
-Continuing my intro to yoga class.
-Attending Hands on Small Business.
-Starting my Christmas shopping (I know, I know).
-Handing out candy to little ghosts and goblins.
-Taking a peek at a very similar dresser to the one that got away.

OK so summer is over this month. What the, what?! I must admit though, I’m looking forward to cooler weather and crisp nights. The last month has been so, so hot and humid. This month I’m looking forward to:
-Labor Day on the lake in Maine {pictured above}.
-Launching my little surprise.
-Celebrating Stephen’s 30th birthday!
-Attending our friends Chip & Lauren’s wedding.
-Seeing U2 in concert.
-Hosting some great guest bloggers.
-And last but not least, our long delayed honeymoon/30th birthday celebration to Greece!

Happy August to you! Summer is winding down and it’s almost back to school time. Yeah, I’m sure, for all you moms out there! This month I’m looking forward to:
-Visiting with family at Smith Mountain Lake.
-Seeing Coldplay in concert.
-Relaxing at home every weekend from now until Labor Day.
-Painting our bedroom.
-Being one step closer to unveiling my little surprise.
-Doing a little shopping over the tax free holiday weekend.
-Spending every weekend with Stephen, he doesn’t have to work any of them!

Happy July everyone! The year’s half over and 2009 is flying by, isn’t it?! This month I’m looking forward to:
-My Mom and Step-Dad visiting Charlotte.
-Having a date night with Stephen for Queen’s Feast Restaurant Week.
-Celebrating 4th of July festivities at the beach with our friend Chris.
-Attending our friends Tanya and Jared’s wedding weekend with a party Friday night at the Santa Monica Pier and the reception at the Adamson House in Malibu. {The Bride’s Mom is an Event Planner so you know this party will not disappoint!}
-Spending the wedding weekend at the Loew’s Hotel. {Check out the link, it’s gorgeous!}
-Continuing to work on my upcoming surprise. {Sorry, I can’t share just yet but will very, very soon!}
-Actually getting to eat those tomatoes that have been tempting me throughout the month of June in our garden.

OK, how can it be June?! I absolutely cannot believe how incredibly fast 2009 is flying by! This month we don’t have a whole lot planned but that’s just because we have a lot planned later in the year! This month activities in Charlotte pick up and I am looking forward to a few of them:
-Attending Pops in the Park.
-Making a quick weekend trip up to Virginia to see one of my sister-in-laws and her family.
-Possibly attending Taste of Charlotte.
-Eating the first tomatoes and basil from our garden and from our CSA.
