My brown flats are starting to get pretty run down. I’m eyeing these but hoping they go on sale soon.

The pattern of this carrara marble tile. We’re finally getting rid of the stained grout and disgusting, chipped tile in our bathroom; this pattern has won my heart over.
A new cheek color. I officially have the longest lasting blush. Seriously. It will be 3-years-old in March and I still can’t see the bottom of the container! (I only know this because I received it for my birthday right before I moved to North Carolina.) It’s MAC and although I love the color, I’m getting tired of it! I’ve heard really good things about how flattering NARS Orgasm is on all skin tones. I think it will be fun for spring.
This lamp to sit atop the bedroom dresser. With a contemporary drum shade, of course.

I received the OPI nail color You Don’t Know Jacques in my stocking and I must say, OPI hit it out of the park. It was a huge hit around the house and my toesies are wearing it proudly.
Red lipstick always reminds me of my mom. She could be wearing nothing, and still have her red lips! So when Joanna posted about this pretty girl and her quest to find the perfect red lipstick, I decided it was high time I discovered mine. I think red lips instantly make you look glamours and pulled together, no matter what you’re wearing! I’ll post my results soon.

This stuff is a game changer for me. It evens out my skin tone, I don’t sweat through and have shine midday, it doesn’t rub off on my clothes and it’s so lightweight I don’t know it’s on. I’ve seriously had some good luck in the beauty department lately.

As I’m sure you’re aware, I’ve been on the hunt for a new facial cleanser. I want it to be as safe for the environment as possible and I want it to work! I have oily skin that tends to get irritated easily and in the harsh winter cold can become dried out. Well ladies and gentlemen, drum roll please… I have found a winner. I’m not kidding. I know I can jump around with products but I am in love. Literally in love with these three products.
Checks and Balances leaves my skin clean and refreshed. There is no tightness and it controls oil for hours. I use it day and night and have noticed a considerable difference in the shine factor.
Modern Friction has made my skin so soft. I use it twice a week and can see an immediate change. My blackheads are disappearing and my pores appear smaller. My skin is soft and looks and feels reenergized. It doesn’t irritate like some scrubs with sand have been known to. I absolutely love this.
With all three of these products I use a very minimal amount. The size of a pea for the cleanser, one dousing of the tonic on a cotton ball and the size of a dime on the scrub. I anticipate each of these to last well over six months, thus I’m okay with the cost. And did I mention, each of these products are tested on people not animals, is made exclusively with plants and essential oils not chemicals and the tonic is even organic? I have nothing to complain about!

I’m on the hunt for new body lotion. I picked up a new one over the weekend and today I’m sticky. I cannot stand it. Real Simple recommends Eucerine Daily Replenishing Lotion because it softened skin without being slick or leaving any kind of residue. Sounds perfect. What are you loving these days?
One thing I’m religious about is putting sunscreen on my face. I’m a product junkie so you can trust me when I say I’ve tried tons of different sunscreens.
Last year when I was at the dermatologist having some melasma looked at, she recommended Elta MD Oil-Free Sunscreen since I have, well, oily skin. And you know, this stuff is amazing! It’s light, fragrance-free and doesn’t leave any film on my face. It’s also safe for sensitive skin. If you’re on the hunt for sunscreen I definitely recommend Elta MD. They have a full line including products for older skin, acne prone, sport, water proof and body lotion.
Elta MD is pretty much only available through dermatologist offices, however, I have found a few places that carry it online, including Amazon. Prices are consistent everywhere, but don’t be turned off with the price. It’s so worth it.
I’m an advertising company’s ideal customer. I love pretty packaging, clever advertising and all the claims the product can do. But, as I’ve become more and more environmentally conscious I switched my attention to products that are safe for me and safe for the environment. As I mentioned last month I hadn’t found a shampoo and conditioner I loved. Well guess what?! That has now changed!
Let me introduce you to Lamas Beauty. They have numerous products including hair care, skin care and body care, but, I’m obsessed with the Soy Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. Made with 100% organic, natural ingredients including vitamins E and B, soy, aloe and amino acids this product is wonderful. Unlike other natural shampoos, the lather is thick and sudsy. The conditioner light and washes out thoroughly (a problem I’ve had). There aren’t any chemicals (sodium laurel sulfate being the main culprit) that strip your hair of its natural moisture or hair dye. Seriously, my hair is super shiny, bouncy and has a light pretty, not perfumy smell.

If there’s one thing I strive to be fashion wise, it’s dress like the girls from J.Crew. I just love their style. I cannot get over it.
So, when Courtney over at In(side) the Loop informed me that Essie and J.Crew have combined creative juices and come out with two beautiful limited-edition colors for fall ‘09, I about jumped for joy!
Personally I like Eternal Optimist, a soft ballerina pink. But, One of A Kind, a fiery orange-red that can be seen on the models’ nails throughout the latest catalog, is fun too! Both can found in stores and online.
No matter what color I put on my toes, I always go back to Breaking Curfew. It looks super dark, but in the sun it’s an awesome color.

I’m normally a red or burgundy or dark, dark red nail polish kinda gal. But lately, I’ve been in the mood for something bright and summery. Something a bit different. So, low and behold, while at Target yesterday I came upon Essie Exotic Liras. It shows a bit too red on my monitor but it’s a true fuschia. It reminds me of my friend Tonya’s fuschia powder room and looks amazing on my toes. What are you wearing these days?
P.S. Did you know Essie polishes contain no Formaldehyde, DBP or Toluen. Love that!
