Once again I’m on the hunt for mascara. I feel like I’ve been through so many. Do any of you have suggestions for a fantastic one that thickens and lengthens, doesn’t give raccoon eyes (that’s a biggie for me) and doesn’t flake or clump?

I’ve been using Too-Faced Lash Injection for the past couple of years and am liking it. Thick soft brush, waterproof, doesn’t flake off into my eyes.
I know the feeling. I searched for years. And the Oscar goes to… Dior Show. It’s amazing. My second runner is BadGal by Benefit. I must say that it’s all about application. I know apply mascara in the car on the way to work. Natural light and long deliberate passes through the lashes do wonders! Mascara is one of my favorite products. Good luck.
I love MAC plush lash!
i love diorshow!!
2 I LOVE are both super cheap…i have the same problem and experiment all the time…I am fair and have medium lashes that love to clump…
Cover girl lashblst lenght (yellow tube) and Cover girl eye lights (white tube)
I’m counting on your readers to find us a new mascara! I have not been happy with the last one…raccoon eyes…not horrible but enough that I don’t want to repurchase.
I’ll second CovergGirl! Either the “length” in the yellow tube or the regular orange tube. Both are fantastic.
Ooooh, I love questions like this! Personally, I use Lancome Hypnose religiously. In my professional make up kit I use Hypnose, Diorshow original or Iconic and Max Factor Masterpiece (original, not the souped up ones). In the past I have been a slave to YSL False Lash Effect which is also great.
That said, application goes a long way to getting great results, if you can get the look you’re after in one coat then you don’t need to overload your lashes and there’s less chance of clumping and flaking. Don’t overload the brush (some people will tell you not to scrape off excess on the inside of the tube, but I ignore that and do it every time! But NEVER “pump” the wand in and out of the tube, nothing dries mascara out quicker) then all that’s needed is to nestle the brush as close to the roots of the lashes as possible and then pull the brush up the length of the lashes slowly, zig-zagging as you go. A few light strokes at the tips to pull the lashes into “position”, so that they’re sweeping out and up (rather than just up, which can make some people look startled!) and you’re done. Beautiful.
Can you tell I’m a mascara fanatic?!
P.S. Most mascaras have a short life span, 6 months at most, but some will dry up much quicker, and once that happens they’re good for nothing!
I am very picky about mascara and I have 2 favorites. KISS ME mascara is amazing, it coats your lashes with tubes of silicon. I have been using it for 6 years and LOVE it! You can read about it here http://www.blincinc.com/
The other one I recently discovered and love is MAC’s Dazzle lash. Good luck!!

I agree with Hayley…the Blinc (formerly Kiss Me) is my absolute favorite! I have been wearing it for years and would never wear anything else! (I have racoon eye problems also, but not with Blinc, it is awesome!)
For a drugstore brand, Maybelline Colossal (yellow tube) comes in a few blacks & brown, waterproof or not. If you don’t mind spending a little more Smashbox Bionic or Two-faced lash injection are my favroites, I’ve used them all for years (I like to change it up everytime I need a new tube), all three result in long, thick lashes without the clumps.
[...] A few weeks back I solicited answers to the question: what’s your favorite mascara? And I got tons of suggestions with a few being repeated several times. Now I must admit, if I can get something that works just as well but at a fraction of the price from a drugstore brand, then I’m all for it. And, truly, I love this stuff. It doesn’t clump, it doesn’t flake and best of all, no raccoon eyes! [...]
