Sometimes green cleaning products can be tough to locate. These should all be at your local grocery store or Target. They also cost just about the same as the old stuff you’re use to buying. All of these products were tested {on real dirty homes and dishes} by the Good Housekeeping Research Institute, one of my favorite testing institutes!
Of the ready-to-use products tested, Sun & Earth All Purpose {$3.79} cut through greasy messes the best, especially on counter tops.
The GHRI experts found one standout in the dish-detergent category: Planet Ultra Dishwashing Liquid {$3.09.} It zapped dried-on grease and food particles, and cleaned the most plates per use.

For overall laundry spot removal the Arm & Hammer Essentials 2X Concentrated {$3.49} came out on top. It was particularly effective at washing in cold water, with top scores for removing ink, mascara, wine, gravy and grape juice stains.

Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner {$5} has scored high in several GHRI tests. It is perfect for heavier jobs than most all-purpose cleaners. Think scouring barbecue grills. It’s concentrated though, so be sure to dilute. The only downside? I think it stinks!
